Known for having over 100 lakes (hence the name Land O’ Lakes) the city is still growing as new housing developments are built. Land O’ Lakes is located in central Pasco County just a few miles from Hillsborough/Pasco County Line Road and east of the new Suncoast Parkway.

Growth in Land O’ Lakes occurred during the early 1990s, growing from 7,800 residents just over 20,000. According to Pasco County’s estimates, the city’s population in 2007 has grown to over 30,000 residents. Numerous upscale communities and a new master planned community are currently underway adding over 8700 homes, more restaurants, shops, and schools.
